Alternative Views:

Somerset printmaking paper is a very popular grade produced by the historic St. Cuthbert's Mill in the UK. This paper has been around since the early 1970's. Legion in the 90's worked with the mill based on the demands of the printmaking community to make the limited range of Somerset to become the most complete offering of mouldmade printmaking paper ever manufactured by one mill.

Somerset is great for drawing due to the soft handle and supple feel in all three surfaces it offers. It is also known in the stationery industry and working well with letterpress, engraving, thermography and embossing.

In the 90's when digital printing started to become popular Somerset was one of the first fine art paper to gain popularity in this new world. Due to this Somerset became available in more sizes and weights to meet the demand. This then led to the inkjet coated version, Somerset Enhanced Velvet, which is an important paper of fine art giclee printing.

Somerset is mouldmade in the UK with 100% cotton and has 4 deckles.
